In order to achieve full compliance with the legal requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, verification is required that an electrical system remains safe. This involves, amongst other things, inspection and testing of an electrical system by ‘Competent’ Engineers.

A business can achieve these requirements by having an Electrical Condition Report (ECR) or a Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) carried out at regular intervals to ensure the safety of the wiring.
